You are cordially invited to attend the official Washington, DC, presentation of V-Day DC's "A Memory, A Monologue, A Rant and A Prayer" 2011. This groundbreaking collection of monologues includes contributions by world-renowned writers like Maya Angelou, Carol Gilligan and Michael Eric Dyson. Edited by Eve Ensler and Mollie Doyle, their voices rise up in a collective roar to break open, expose, and examine the insidiousness of violence at all levels: brutality, neglect, a punch, even a put-down.
An Assistant U.S. Attorney, the President of the National Organization for Women (N.O.W.), a Medical School Dean and the Executive Director of the National Building Museum are just a handful of notable Washingtonians contributing to this V-Day production, directed by Adriene Jordan. Original contributor to MMRP, Dr. Michael Eric Dyson will read his own piece, Part Owner.
