She is the Liaison to Related Organizations for the anti-trafficking awareness and fundraising campaign, Stop Child Trafficking Now, and she was the coordinator for seventeen screenings of the anti-slavery documentary Call + Response at Tribeca Cinemas. Alissa came face to face with several survivors of sex trafficking while visiting Cambodia, and she returned with a determination to serve these beautiful persons and battle this brutal industry."

She believes this kind of bridge is necessary in order for all people to have the opportunity to move away from their condition of poverty, and towards a better future for them and their children."
